1. About this platform
Toolkist (toolkist.app) is a free, browser-based utility suite operated by Aleks Linde as a personal project. All tools execute entirely on your device using client-side JavaScript. No files, data, or personal information are ever transmitted to or stored on any server operated by this platform.
2. User responsibility for uploaded content
You are solely responsible for any files or content you process using this platform. By using these tools you represent and warrant that:
- You own the content or have obtained all necessary rights, licences, and permissions required to process it.
- Processing or converting the content does not violate any applicable law, regulation, or third-party right, including copyright, trade mark, privacy, or export-control law.
- You will not use this platform to process content that is unlawful, defamatory, infringing, or otherwise objectionable.
Because all processing occurs locally in your browser, this platform has no visibility into, and exercises no control over, the content you choose to process. Responsibility for lawful use rests entirely with you.
3. Intellectual property & copyright
Many font files, images, PDFs, and other assets are protected by copyright and may be subject to licence restrictions that limit conversion, redistribution, or modification. Converting a font from WOFF to TTF, for example, does not grant you any rights beyond those already conferred by the original licence.
You assume full responsibility for ensuring that your use of any converted or processed output complies with the terms under which the original asset was obtained. This platform does not provide legal advice and nothing on this site should be construed as such.
4. Open-source software
The source code for this platform is made available on GitHub under the MIT Licence. You are free to use, copy, modify, merge, publish, distribute, sublicence, and sell copies of the software, subject to the conditions of that licence.
The MIT Licence permits broad use but carries an important condition: the software is provided "as is", without warranty of any kind. The full licence text is available in the repository.
Third-party libraries used by this platform (opentype.js, wawoff2, Alpine.js, and others) are distributed under their own licences. Refer to each library's repository for the applicable terms.
5. No warranty
This platform and all tools it provides are offered "as is" and "as available", without warranty of any kind — express, implied, or statutory — including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, completeness, or non-infringement. The operator does not warrant that the tools will be error-free, uninterrupted, or produce results suitable for any particular purpose. Use the tools at your own risk and always retain an unmodified copy of any file before processing it.
6. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Aleks Linde and any contributors to this platform shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or exemplary damages arising out of or in connection with your use of, or inability to use, this platform or its tools — including but not limited to loss of data, loss of revenue, or corruption of files — even if advised of the possibility of such damages. Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of certain damages; in those jurisdictions liability is limited to the fullest extent permitted by law.
7. Third-party services
This platform uses Cloudflare for hosting and edge compute. This service has its own terms of use and privacy policy. This platform is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by any third-party service provider referenced herein.
8. Changes to this notice
This legal notice may be updated from time to time. Material changes will be reflected in a revised effective date at the top of this page. Continued use of the platform after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
